Im building a gaming rig and wanted your opinions on it
i7 2600k
Asus z68 v pro
Corsair Vengeance 2x2gb
Corsair h80
Seasonic S12II620 Bronze (non modular)
Asus Direct cu 7970

Is the cpu good for current and future gaming or should i look into something else? How many years am i looking at for next cpu+mobo upgrade

This is for the sole purpose of gaming .I will be playing Cysis 2,3 , bf 3,4 , fps games, AAA titles and all the future upcoming games

looks good, you wont need one untill 2015 the most so in terms of cpu update cycles...sandy bridge to ivy bridge to haswell to broadwell to finally skylake. maybe do 8 gigs of ram instead? Crysis 3 fills my 8 gigs to 50% when playing....

Looks OK. The i7 isn't needed for gaming and the SB CPU is a bit dated as is the Z68 MB (although would be fine).

i have everything except the cpu and mobo.
These are my choices
1) i7 2600k + asus z68 v pro
2) i5 3570k + asrock z77 extreme 4
Both for the same price
