Im getting poor speed in my room i have a phone extension i think a little over 3 maybe 5 meters and i get highest speed of 2.5 Mbs down 0.10 Mb up down to a low 0.40 to 0.70 Mb down and 0.30 Mb up but when i put my router right next to the phone socket in the kitchen and have a filter plugged into the phone jack and connect my ethernet to laptop i get about 3.50 Mb down and 0.60 to 0.75 up when i do speed test.

What i want to know is if i get a cat5 cable or cat6 cable and run it to to my room from the kitchen into my room to my desktop gaming computer and have the router/modem which is lynksys x2000 in the kitchen by the phone jack will i get my 3.50 Mb down and 075 up ? because in my room using the phone extension it slows down and when it slows down i can't even play bf3 online and my videos take forever to upload to youtube.

So can you tell me because i wanna get the cable from Global Pc today but i don't wanna waste my money if it does not work

you should be able to get a cat5e cable for just a little bit more than a regular cat5 cable, and it's a little better quality. Cat6 is even better quality from Cat5e. As long as your network cable length is under 300 feet long, you should have the same performance as if your computer is right next to the router in the kitchen. Just make sure that nobody else in the house will have a problem with a long cable running through it.
