Hey,

I'm on the brink of ordering parts for my first build, a PC that I will use primarily for audio production and gaming. The last thing to decide on is what kind of RAM I want. For audio production I think 16GB of 1600MHz DDR3 RAM is a good idea. Can anybody comment on this and/or recommend specific good value products for my needs? Is there any practical difference between 4x4GB and 2x8GB?

Thanks a lot in advance, you guys are the best :')

Solution
A 2x8GB set would be best bet, would suggest 1866 (price difference is nil)...2 sticks vs 4 is less stress on the MC (memory controller) and with only 2 pipes in use slightly faste (though you'll never 'see' it)
If you can if your using an intel mb pick up 1866 ram. You want to use two eight gig sticks to leave to slots open on your mb. Most new 1155/1150 mb run best with two sticks of matched ram. If one of the a banks dimm slots go bad you still have two slots open. Also if you fill all the dimm slots and need more ram you have to toss or sell the smaller ram sticks.
