Hello,
I have an intel i7-4770k in a Gigabyte G1.Sniper M5 microATX board with 8gb Mushkin Redline 1600mhz memory.
Everytime I go into either my system BIOS or Intel XTU to OC my cpu, even at minor incremental increases in either my core multiplier, core frequency and even core voltage my system will restart and be stuck in a bootup loop until the system defaults to normal settings and it informs me that there was a malfunction. This also happens when I just try and increase my memory clock also, (its running at 1333 for some reason and i try to increase it to 1600). My mobo has updated drivers and my cpu is running at low temps of 35c idle. I don't see what could possible be going wrong!

Thanks,
Sean.

for the memory you need to change it in the memroy section (xmp) did you read the overclocking sticky for sandy bridge chips? same system, if your overclocking the blk then bad things happen. LOL

This is a haswell chip, not sandy, they do require different tweaks. Check out this basic guide and compare your steps and settings to it

Might do well to reset factory settings on BIOS and start from scratch so you don't have some goofy setting messing up the process

I had the same problem. I finally used a USB stick to save my Bios settings and have not had to use it one time as my settings stay now.
I know that saving it was just a way to not have to go in every time it crashed and re do it over and over, but somehow it has stayed ever
sense and I have never lost my settings again. Give it a try !!!
