No sound (Audio device on high definition audio bus driver exclamation mark) from computer?

I reinstalled Windows XP for a fresh start but the sound does not work. In device management, there is an exclamation mark next to "Audio device on high definition audio bus driver". I have tried to update the driver but wizard claims that it cannot find it on my computer. The sound was working well before the reinstalling. My computer model is Shuttle Inc SG33 V10
Windows XP Proff. SP 3

Please help!

that indicates that windows disabled it for some reason, do you also have a sound card installed?

I would right click and uninstall and then click on the scan for new hardware icon on the top of device manager to re-add
