I recently salvaged an old media reader which uses the 4 pin connector. I believe, my motherboard does not have any pins to natively support this.
I checked the wires on the media reader and they are the same as follows, except it has an extra blocked 5th pin.
Sadly I'm not well versed in this area yet, but it seems electrically the connection should work as the +5v data-/+ and ground are all in the same spot as usb is.
When connected to my computer it does register as there is something connected but assumes it is faulty hardware.
Is there a driver work around I could use for this? Or possibly am I missing something entirely?
My motherboard in case it helps
