Okay, for the last three weeks, I have been spending over 5 hours a day doing pure research on computers and computer parts. I am going to be purchasing a PC soon, and I have an enormous budget. 6k USD. The PC will be for hardcore gaming, video/photo editing, rendering, programming/developing, and lots of multimedia use. I will be using THREE 1080p monitors, and want this rig to be able to run almost any game (INCLUDING Crysis 3) at 60+ FPS w/ MAX graphics settings. I have tried several combinations of parts to try and make the perfect rig but I just can't seem to do it. There is always one flaw which destroys the entire thing. So, I have a few questions. First, Is 3 monitors worth it for the multitasking and gaming experience? (Vs getting 2- 1 for gaming and the other to multitask) What would be the PC you would put together?

Please help! This would mean a lot!

For 6k, i'd get three 1440p monitors.
Maybe something like this?
IDK whether to go for three 780's or two titans, as the three large monitors might be too much for the 780's 3gb of ram each.

Also, I left a few hundred dollars for a custom waterloop, as that'd be nice.

Wasn't sure if the monitors are in this budget...

I wouldn't go with anything past 2-way SLI. 3/4-way sli doesn't scale very well and it's just throwing money away.

-Stuck with the original 3x 1080p monitors. All three are 144hz monitors.
-Honestly, you shouldn't really need a bigger SSD. 256gb is plenty as long as you don't put random files in it.

Do you think 2 780's have enough power to run Crysis 3 at max settings across three monitors while holding up a 60+ FPS? Also, do you think 3 GB of VRAM will be enough for future games? I'd like to future proof this build as much as possible.

Are four 780's necessary? Don't you think that is overkill? How about two Titans? I don't need a "super computer", just something that will meet my standards which I mentioned in the beginning. Also, do you think 3GB of VRAM will be enough for games in the future? I would like to future proof this build as much as possible.

This is about the build I had in mind except with a Rampage IV Extreme Motherboard and a smaller Samsung SSD (Like 250GB). Any justifications for the reasons you picked those parts?

You think so? Mind showing me a 2k build that can do that? My biggest concern is that future games and Crysis 3 won't be able to run on 3 monitors without a superior computer. That is what I have heard. Thanks :)

How is this any different from the other thread you started on this 6k build?

I stand by my comment in that one....2 different builds for two different purposes. Split maybe $3500/$2500. (If you absolutely must spend $6000)

I liked your idea, but sometimes when I don't get many replies I re-post the thread so I can get more opinions.

Thanks very much. This comment helped a lot. How many FPS do you think it WILL get? Also, do you think 3GB of VRAM is enough for future games such as BF4 and still multitasking?
