Hi everyone,

I am stuck between getting the i3 3250 with the 2 gb NVidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti OR the i5 3470 with the 1 gb NVidia GeForce GTX 650.

The first pairing is cheaper which is why I might get it. They will be with 8 gb RAM and I plan on using the pc for casual gaming, word and browsing. So which should I get? Which one is better value for money?

Thanks,

Also, can someone tell me if the CPU on these pairings might actually bottleneck the graphics card, please?

The I5 rig. It will last you a lot longer. Newer games will use more than the 2 threads(from the physical cores) the I3 has and games don't go with Hyper threading hand-to-hand (the 2 extras from HT). The I5 has 4 cores resulting in 4 genuine threads. Also it has quite a lot more power.

Ok thanks, but what about in terms of performance because one has a better GPU and worse CPU whereas the other has a worse GPU but better CPU?

Ok thanks all these lists and stuff are really good but I don't want to go down that route of putting the parts together and would rather use a website that puts my design together for me. I know this is more expensive but I prefer this method. So going back to my question what would be better to get? The i3 rig or i5?

Wow all these lists you guys have put together are so much better value than on the website. The only thing is I need windows 7 and Microsoft office home premium which I think will raise the cost a bit

ok I need to ask some questions ,

1- is sound quality important for you? ie Music sound clarity , and Movies sound quality etc ? some chips are 20 times better than cheap chips and I mean 20x better .. those cheap motherboards have low Quality sound chips.
2- is gaming important ?
3- do you want MS office 2013 for home and students? what Office apps are you using ?
4- do you want SSD making this pc faster in load times ? or you prefer abetter gaming experience over SSD ?
