Hi,

I should be receiving my new MSI Z77A GD65 MB soon and would like to know if I should update the bios to the latest version? Is this advisable or should it only be done if and when I experience problems?

Thanks.

Yes you should, BIOS updates are painless these days, not like the dinosaur days of a few years back, and each update is generally full of updates in particular for DRAM compatibility and other, they will seldom ever list more than 1 or 2 items, but that have to keep updating to keep up with all the newer hardware and advances

It's usually a good idea.

I agree with every post in this thread.

Updating my BIOS is always a particularly stressful operation, but it's still a good idea.
I say go for it, but read the manufacturer's instructions carefully before doing so.
