i been wondering a long time what cpu i should get the fx-8350 or the new haswell i5 now i am pretty sure i will go intel i5-4670k but now my question is what motherboard should i get?

I dont want a too expensive one but i dont want the cheapest either i have the asus m5a99x evo motherboard atm that i think is a really good mobo so it feels like a little waste to change to go intel but i think i will be happy with the new intel as i have a fx-4100 atm.

So what mobo would you guys recommend me i want a good one that would be good for over clocking too nothing extreme and maybe have some new good features that would improve my overall components too like gpu and ram maybe.

Specs:

cpu: amd fx-4100
mobo: asus m5a99x evo
ram: kingston 16gb 1333 mhz 4x4 gb sticks
gpu: Gigabyte radeon HD 7970 oc 1000 mhz
storage: 120 gb ssd 60x2 ocz and 1tb normal hdd
cooler: antec kuhler 620
case: fractal design core 3000
psu: 730w thermaltake SP-730AH2NH
lampron led fan controller

the MSI board is the best of the lot and what I would get. but the cheaper boards offer better value if that's what you're looking for. (get the MSI board if you don't plan on rebuilding for 3+ years)
um, the cost of a new Intel system will be somewhere around $350 for a new CPU and mobo

the Cost of throwing in a fx-8350 to your current mobo is $200.

now while the i5 is definately nice for gaming and some of your everyday tasks, I don't think it's $150 (or 33% of your total cost) nicer than the fx8350. I think it's more of a 10% nicer or so...

Update: sorry, got carried away and forgot to answer your question:

I'll second RealBeast on the Asrock recommendation. in addition, the MSI 'gaming' line of motherboards are also very nice. I would spend the extra money for a G65 instead of G45 if you decide to get the MSI boards

I've used several of the ASUS Z87 boards and the are very nice but expensive. I've done a few builds with ASRock Extreme boards and they are very good for a better price. They all have similar performance, much depends on the bells and whistles that you must have or can live without. If I were doing a new build for me, I would use an ASRock board.

yea but the performance over the fx-4100 that i have atm it will be a big increase to go intel haswell i5, i been thinking alot about the fx-8350 that would be cheaper and i would like that but im a hardcore gamer and intel is better for that with the i5 some people say the fx-8350 wins the i5 and that they are so close to each other it dosent matter while others say the intel i5 is so much better and some benchmarks shows its much better while others shows they are almost exacly same and in single core performance the intel is much better it is a really hard decicion to make but i think i will e better with the intel one even when i have to change my mobo.

i have checked this MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING, LGA1150, Intel Z87, DDR3, ATX

is that one a good mobo that have all the "extra goods" that would be worth getting with a intel i5 hasweel cpu?

So should i get that mobo or would you suggest some other with better features or a cheaper option for almost same peformance . I dont know that much when it comes o motherboard features i dont really know what i need i know the basics for what mobo i need for my components to work with it but when it comes to all extra features and so i dont really know.

or what good features do you look for in a mobo nowdays when it comes to gaming high end gpu's cpu's and so for ultimate speed and peformance and a good overclocker but nothing crazy, and that have a good onboard sound like the mobo i have atm i am happy with .

Sorry for so mqny questions sorry i was edeting a little and it took wrong lines now i post this from phone so it got a little messed up

hmm, for that price range, I can only suggest cheaper alternatives: ASUS z87 PLUS, or the ASRock Z87 Extreme 3 are both good options with similar capabilities. if you don't mind how a board looks, these are solid alternatives for a cheaper price. performance is pretty much the same, though you can say the MSI board is of better build quality (perhaps uses slightly more quality parts). but it won't make much of a difference to the average user.

The most important thing to look for in a motherboard is the chipset. in this case you want the 8* generation chipset, and specifically the z87 series for overclocking (others can overclock too... but we don't need to get into that). you then want to look for the organization of the PCIe slots, and decide if they're positioned the way you would want to use them, especially if you plan on adding more GPUs later down the line (you want the slots to be separated enough so the GPUs can cool properly). lastly you can look at BIOS and features. though honestly if you're not benchmarking, a board from any of the quality manufacturers such as ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, and ASRock, build quality should all be fine and you'll get just about the same performance out of any of them.

So would you suggest the msi board i picket or would you pick a other one that would be "better" / cheaper and will do everything a normal user/gamer will ask for mostly only some over clocking otherwise they are pretty much the same with some extra features
