Hello, is 3570k worth it for OCing? I was thinking to get it just for OC'ing because looking for the future, but after reading a bit, some say it is worth it, some say its not, but thats what I read from older posts. But will I actually see any fps increase if lets say I OC 3570k to 4.1ghz. Im planning on playing games like Tomb Raider, Metro, Witcher2 Bioshock, BF4, BF3..well most new action games that comes out in next 3 years on high/ultra settings and 1680x1050 and some games that better with controller on 1080p TV.

My current planned build for buying is this:

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K, Quad Core, 3.40GHz, 6MB, LGA1155, 22nm, 77W, VGA, BOX
MB: ASRock Z77 PRO3, Z77, DDR3-1600, 2xSATA3, RAID, HDMI, GBLAN, ATX
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 760, 2GB DDR5 (256 Bit), HDMI, DVI, DP Twin Frozr(or Gigabyte Windforce) or Asus 760 GTX( still thinking about Vapor 7950)
PSU: Corsair VS 550W ATX, 120mm
RAM: DDR3 Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 1600MHz CL9 1.5V
CASE: Cooler Master K(night) 350, Midl tower, black, with BLUE LED fan, with window, with USB 3.0 , black inside.

Solution
Not that cut and dried. Not sure how many fps diff you'd see but it takes 4.1ghz on four cores to get the cpu under 100% utilization (big maps). If u r at 100%, something is waiting in a queue, so the lower the clockspeed the more things are waiting. I feel it's worth it to get the most out of the investment in a system.

I wouldn't be OC'ing right after I bought it(no more money left for aftermarket CPU cooler), maybe after a half year or a year, when I'd see that I need more performance. I only ask this, because I'm trying to save as much a possible with this build and wanna know if it would be a good investment. I only know one thing, I will be OC'ing GPU, but cant decide about CPU.
