I got an iBuypower computer with an AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series video card installed, and it has 2 HDMI ports and one standard monitor port. The computer also has a built-on monitor port which I plugged my would-be secondary monitor into, but I can not seem to find out how to activate said secondary.

I am using windows 8. Should I buy an HDMI plug (or 2) for the monitors and try that method? By dual screen, I am looking to extend desktop, not duplicate screen. Thanks.

You need to go into bios and enable the integrated graphics. It usually gets disabled when you have a graphics card.

A bit off topic but a card with 2 hdmi is pretty rare, are you sure it's not hdmi and displayport?
