sorry if this is the wrong forum.
recently I have had power issues with my pc. what happens is when I start up a game I will get to play it for 5 - 10 minutes maybe and it will shut off on its own. I checked on all of my plugins and they seem to be fine. I haven't overclocked my pc so I don't think that it is that and I bought a psu that was over 100 kw more than the required for my pc. if you know what could be causing this please help. thank you!

Please post all your PC specs and games you play during these interruptions so we can make better assessments.

I have similar specs and I use 850 watt power supply. I would start there, at least a 750 watt. That video card will draw quite abit when being pushed. As well as your processor when stressed.

thanks I will buy a larger psu but the main problem that I have with that idea is that on pcpartpicker it says I only need a 450w psu .

I'd say 650 is good, so I'd buy a 750 watt. Use this to calculate. http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

Try taking out the memory and reseating it. Sometimes it can be an issue. Check in the BISO for your ram voltage, make sure it's correct. If all that checks out it could be software based. When was your last windows update? You can check your events log under computer management. You can also do a windows recovery back to before your issue started. One of those tips should get you a good result. Best of luck and let me know, thanks...
