Solution
The 7970 has about the same performance as the GTX770:
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/770?vs=829

Same great performing PC with slightly different parts:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($199.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($19.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($112.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($56.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($94.99 @ NCIX US)...
honestly, it's a good build. assuming you want to keep the CPU and GPU the same for performance:

basically, cheaper mobo, cut the SSD, and get a cheaper (but still good) PSU.

Should I downgrade my vid card? Im gonna be play cod, battlefield, dota, minecraft on a 27in monitor.
still $1,100 after mail in rebates in still good for me. My max is $1,200.

Ive left room for adding another 7970 in the future if you really wanted and allowed for overclocking with the hyper 212 plus.

@Mr_Mustache101:
The FX-6100 is a horrible processor. That's a huge downgrade from the i5-4670k.

-Cheaper motherboard. Still overclocks well.
-Cheaper RAM. I know it has huge heat-spreaders, but you can always move the fan on the Hyper 212 EVO up a bit so it won't interfere.
-Cheaper SSD. Plextor is a great brand. In benchmarks, the Samsung 840 PRO is faster. In a real world situation, you won't notice it.
-Downgraded case a bit. The 300r is still a great case. However, if you can fit it, I would try to bring it to a NZXT Phantom 410.
-Downgraded gpu a bit. The 7970 is definitely weaker than the 770, but it can overclock well and still play almost all games maxed out. You might have to tune down a few games like Crysis 3, but that's a maybe.
-PSU doesn't allow for crossfire, but the drivers for crossfire are extremely bad so it's just a waste of money.

Heres a comparison, the GTX770 and the 7970 are about equal :) :
