Is there an ISP in the Los Angeles/ Orange County area offering gigabit internet services?

So i live in Southern California and ive been hearing amazing things about the new(er) lightning fast gigabit internet speeds thanks to, wait for it, Tom's Hardware. I heard that Verizon Fios is offering gigabit internet now, but their price is way beyond ridiculous. So ive been looking around for other ISP's, but i havent found any that offer gigabit services down here in SoCal. Any help?

Gigabit internet connection requires a OC-48 (2.488 Gb/s).

OC-48 cost about $300,00 - $500,000 per month and is only available in a few areas.

yeah, but this is something the ISP or the city would have to pay for to get installed in certain areas right?
