I am thinking of getting a new PC soon, (considering mine is 5 years old) shes done her job. So I currently have a GTX GT 620 a Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 2.4GHZ and 4 GB of RAM. I already have the case, monitor, hard drive, all of that. So I don't know what I should get honestly, I was thinking of an alienware x51. But people say it's overpriced. Also I do want this computer for GAMING (I just want to play the game I don't honestly care about the graphics, but would like to run it on high/very high) So, what do you guys think that I need? (I want to run bf3, bf4 when it comes out, arma 3, etc...etc... Thanks for taking time to read all of this and I hope someone can help me!

Solution
For gaming pc there two main CPU that you can go with amd or intel.
Amd Chips are cheaper if you have a small budget. Intel CPU you pay more for them but there the better gaming CPU. Ram for the pc now is standard ddr3 ram at 1600 speed with refresh of 9. Video cards depending on your games and the frame rate can run 100 for the 7770 amd cards to 500 or more for higher end amd and nvidia gpu. The sweet spot for money/vs performance is the 7870 or 650 ti boots. Or the 760 from nvidia.
You have two build option. Start with amd 8320 and mb combo on parts picker. Drop in eight gig of 1600 or faster ram. Drop in a 760 or 7870 gig cards. There the two best cards for price and performance. Depending on the age and wattage of your power supply you may want to get a newer 750w unit. It leave you head room to sli or crossfire. The other is intel 4670 and a h motherboard. Non overclocking and ram. These are not gaming rig parts but parts that last you a few years of good use. If the gpu prices are to high there the 7790 that 130 now and the 650 ti lines of cards.

I run BF3 fine on high-mid settings, check my specs below :O
Also usable ram is around 6.5 gb as my Mobo supports max of 8gb

And if you want to go with pre-built desktop, go with origin pc.
