I'm making my own gaming pc and I really don't know which is better. I'm not a huge hardcore gamer, and I don't plan on overclocking. I've searched up i5's on bestbuy (not microcenter because they don't sell i5's at the store closest to me) and the 3570k is more expensive which really confused me. Shouldn't the 4000's be more expensive?
I'd really appreciate the clarification and it'd be nice for a recommendation on which I should get.

My build right now is:

but nothing is official.

The "k" at the end means the processor is "unlocked" so you are free to overclock it. It's usually around $20-$30 more expensive.

The 4000's are a different generation, and they are the newest generation.

Since you said you aren't overclocking, I replaced the processor with a "locked" (and cheaper) version.

What kind of games do you play? Because you may just be able to remove the GPU entirely and use the onboard Intel HD graphics.

Since I'm not sure what exactly what you'll be doing with this computer, I lowered the price in areas. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1k2Up

P.S. I have that case, and I found managing cables in it was rather difficult, but then again I have more to plug-in, too...

i play League of Legends and TF 2 on steam. I plan to play more steam games once I build this because I'm using a mac so other games are going to be more compatible with the PC

Also, do I really only need 380 watts?

It's room for an upgrade.
