Hey guys, I already created a thread on this, but I got lots of mixed answers... And I'm pretty clueless on this topic :p. Can't find any great articles on the internet, so I thought I'd ask again. What is the best cpu cooler for overclocking my i7 4770k to around 4.5 ghz? Air cooling or water cooling is fine, though I'd rather keep the budget around 100 dollars. I'd like the cooler to keep the cpu at reasonable temps, be quiet, and fit in my corsair 300r. Thanks guys.

Well, if it was Ivy bridge we are talking about I'd say go for air cooler it would be enough @4.5G but since we are talking about Haswell it would be wiser to go for water cooler @4.5G, as you may know Haswell produces more heat, due to smaller dye size. But still you can go for a good air cooler, as they are tested here on Tom's to be working just fine on Haswell. Your call :)

Water cooler (respectively)
1.kraken x60
2.corsair h100i

Air cooler (respectively)
1.phantex PH-TC14PE_BL
2.noctua NH-D14
3.coolermaster Hyper 212-X
4.coolermaster Hyper 212-EVO

good luck.

Will these fit in a corsair 300r? That's the most important requisite. I'm kind of leaning towards the kraken x60, though it is pretty big.
