Just installed my new Asus 7970 matrix platinum card. So excited to try BF3 on max. When i got in game and changed the settings to max. I got 80-110 fps without v-sync. (Latest drivers) But when i got outside of the spawn area and saw the mountains they looked like playdough or some low resolution crap. I also noticed some artifacts. What could it be? I got 8gb's of ram. 500W psu, cpu is i7 2600k at stock and screen is running at 1080p. Thanks guys!

Solution
I´ve looked up your Asus 7970 matrix platinum power consumption and it seems that it will need 380-410 W when you play games at high res,
lets do a little math
400W GPU
+
80-90W CPU
+
40-60W Misc. (Mobo,drive,HDD,SSD,..)
=
>500
It could get critical there, that is maybe the source of your problem
When you are in the spawn area, there aren´t the explosions from the tanks, jets, huey, etc. (et cetera)
So when you step out of it the power consumption ascends and goes beyond 500W and then it slows down
[strike][Edit: Do you have all Pin's in your card plugged in (6 & 8 pin)?][/strike]

Yeah i might need to upgrade my PSU. I installed the beta drivers and restarted my pc. And it seems to work fine now. Not sure but it seems so :) I will upgrade it tho when i go crossfire.
