Will the 3D work?

I have been looking for a 120Hz Monitor for a while and found this acer monitor that is 3d ready.

My only question is that it says it is 3D ready but does not have a built in emitter. Will 3D still work with the glasses on the games with a 3D setup in the settings or will i have to get an emitter if i did want it to work?

All you would need in order to use 3d, is the 3d glasses, and games that have a 3d feature.

I wouldn't recommend buying that. Its 3D Vision 1, not 2, meaning it will be very dark and have alot of ghosting.

That, while more expensive, comes with the glasses and emitter built in, so you it comes to about the same.

There doesn't look to be an emitter built in or is that why the stand is an unusual shape, because it has to fit the emitter inside?

Yea you are right, I always get confused by Benq names, I thought that looked a little too cheap.

Thats it, quite a bit pricier. Though, a emitter and glasses will still cost you 80 quid or so, evens out with the extra features. I really would not buy a first generation monitor, Lightboost makes all the difference in the world, I've got a VG278H and turning off Lightboost makes it absolutely horrible in 3D.

Thanks but i don't think i can get that tbh, wanted a new monitor to go with my 780, gonna cost about £900 for both. Thanks anyway and i will get if i can but just don't think ill have the cash.
