IntelCore i7-3770k @ 3.5GHz
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
MOBO - Z77-V LE
GPU - GeForce GTX 670 2GB
RAM - G.skill ares series 16GB 1600Mhz
HD - Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200 RPM
SSD - Crucial Real SSD 64GB
PSU - Antec Earth Watts 750W

The above is my current set-up, I am looking for some improvements to make to the system.

I was thinking of Going from the GTX 670 to the Radeon 7970 (http://), I know that this card is a step up from my old 670 and that this card is relatively repected for it's output to cost ratio.

Should I get the linked model or a different one, and if anyone knows of anywhere I can get the same piece but cheaper would always be appreciated.

I am also thinking that I should overclock this, as I am not too sure but at my current CPU ouput would bottling be likely to occur ?

These are my thoughts on how I should upgrade, I would appreciate it if anyone could look at my system and recommend upgrades that are not too costly that would improve this set up ?

Upgrading from a 670 to a 7970 isn't worth it IMO, too little gain for the cash your spending. The only real upgrade to a 670 would be another in SLI, or a GTX780.
Overclocking the GPU will get you a better result than overclocking the CPU will, though you might as well overclock both.

With a rig like that, I don't really see how it would be under-performing at 1080p.

Thankx for the quick response.

I did think about going for the GTX780 but it is currently too expensive, my main plan was to buy two new monitors and a graphics card, I have the monitors picked out and I have about £500.00 in total that I can spend on this wave of upgrades.

It is with newer games that I see a dip in performance currently, and with the new Tomb Raider I would like to be able to play with a min frame rate of 45.

Whats your AA set too?
I had it set to either off or 2x to get frame-rates consistently above 50 during gameplay.

With that budget, recommend just getting a 2nd card in SLI. Your PSU and board can handle it, I assume with a system like that you would have a case that can handle the airflow they will need.
Also you can just nearly fit a 780 in on a 500 pound budget.

I did have my AA at 4x, and I have to be honest the game was workable, I was sitting at 19FPS average from what the game's built in benchmark tester.

I did see I could just get it in but would rather not risk anything going wrong and not having any funds to get something workable up.
