Hi everyone, I own a budget Mobo Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 with a Phenom 2 Black edition, for the prices I paid I am happy with them. My question is, the motherboard is 2.0 and not 3.0. I cannot find any information anywhere that shows me if:

Graphics card XFXAMD Radeon™ HD7870N/AGDDR5-RAMPCIe x162x DVI, HDMI, 2x Mini-DisplayPort will work on my motherboard.

My power supply is Corsair CX750M (80 Bronze) and I have 6 fans blowing and sucking around my case being controlled by the NZXT fan controller.(8GB Ram 1600MHz Corsair Vengance).

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, as I have hit a brick wall. Thank you for taking the time to read my message and I can't wait to read your replies.

Dave

There you go ........

Graphic Integrated ATI Radeon™ HD 3000 GPU
Multi-VGA output support : HDMI/DVI/RGB ports *1
- Supports HDMI with max. resolution 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz
- Supports DVI with max. resolution 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz
- Supports RGB with max. resolution 2560 x 1440 @ 75 Hz
Maximum shared memory of 1024 MB
Hybrid CrossFireX™ Support
Expansion Slots 1 x PCIe x16
1 x PCIe x1
2 x PCI

Why would that be a problem? this is the right Mobo yes? it's Asus, you may have got it cheap but that looks like a fine enough board to me.

Hi

Thank you so much for the information, exceptionally helpful. That is my board, apart from mine only allows up to 16GB Ram and not 32 :(.

I had a MSI GTX 670 3GB and it wouldn't work on the Mobo, so like a plonker I bought a HD6670 DDR5 1GB, which works fine but not on Battlefield 3 or Crisis 3, in fact nothing, it won't play either of them. Thanks again and I love your Titan pic.

No problem but why would your other card not work? did you upload the drivers that come with the card?

The HD 6670 when you say it doesn't work how do you mean, not good enough to play it or it just doesn't work at all??

Any way good luck.

Hi, this was a new build, so I installed my OS, then all the drivers for my Hardware, updated the Bios, then installed the GTX670 into my PCI E 2.0 slot and x2 PCIE x6 pin connectors from the PSU to the GPU. My system wouldn't find the graphics card, but the HD6670 I have at the minute worked fine. Thank you for asking :) I had the GPU checked before and after installing and their systems found the GPU without installing the driver/s. I thought it might be down to the fact that my Mobo PCI E is 2.0?
