What Upgrade Path Should I Take?

Hi there, I have a capable gaming system for all the games I play. But I want to upgrade it for future games like GTA V and such. The hardware itself is a couple of years old. These are the specs:

Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3
AMD Athlon II X4 640
8GB Kingston HyperX Blu
AMD/Sapphire Radeon 7770 GHz Edition
FSP Bluestorm II 500W
Antec GX-700 Gaming Case
750GB Hitachi + 500GB WD

These are the area's I was planning to upgrade, I just need your help to decide which upgrade to take first to IMPROVE THE PC AS A GAMING MACHINE.

CPU - Athlon 640 - FX-6300 Or FX-8300?
GPU - 7770 - Crossfire 7770 Or New Card
PSU - FSP Bluestorm II - 650W Corsair Unit Or Another?

Your feedback is greatly appreciated and I look forward to seeing your suggestions!

Thanks!
Thomas.

I think a graphics card and PSU upgrade should be first. A GTX760 and a 550W Seasonic "G" series would give a substantial boost in games. If your budget allows, a GTX770 and a 650W Seasonic-built PSU would be nicer. AMD hasn't fixed Crossfire yet, so I'd ignore that option.
After that, either FX-8300 (or wait for Piledriver), or get a socket 1155 or 1150 Intel motherboard with an i5-3570K or i5-4670K.
  2. Go for FX8350 and Corsair 650W now.
If your graphics card is working reasonably, stick with it for the time being. Get a GTX 760 or HD7970 in Fall when most games would launch. GPU prices will definitely fall.

Thanks for your suggestions, I will probably upgrade the PSU as I have read some not so good review on my current one, even though it's 80Plus certified :)

My motherboard only supports upto a FX-8300 and there aren't any available in my country? (UK). I will probably end up getting a FX-6300 or FX-6350. As for GPU's, would a 7950 like this one be a good choice and a reasonable upgrade from a 7770:

Then go for FX 6350. HD7950 Vapor-X is a great card and would be a reasonable upgrade. I am getting one this weekend along with FX8350.
    The Vapor-x needs 2 8-pin PCI-E power connectors. I am going for Corsair TX650 V2. It has 2 6+2 connectors.
You can also go for 7970 Vapor-X, if budget permits.
  6. A HD7950 is a five tier jump from a HD7770, so it would indeed be a big improvement. A good 550W-600W PSU is sufficient. I'd recommend anything built by Seasonic or Enermax/LEPA. The FSP Aurum series is also good.

Will probably either get the 7950 or 7870. Depending on budget.

Thank you for your suggestions! :)

Will probably get a Corsair TX-650 or something similar.

    Thanks! :)
