Hi all, my factory overclocked GTX 770 seems to freeze up randomly, even in low usage tasks.

I currently have an RMA filled but I have been reading that some others have this issue also.

I'm able to play games like The Witcher 2 on max settings minus ubersampling for many hours with no crash, ran heaven with no crash, oc scanner no crash.
Then I had ran "Graphics card stability test" which Nvidia linked me via email. The test seemed very weak compared to things like furmark, heaven etc.

But this old test meant for 8000-9000 series cards froze up and gave me this message. "Freezing detected. Perhaps the video card switched into low-accelerated mode. If you've overclocked your video card, you need to lower your GPU and Mem frequency.

At this point I contacted EVGA and I currently have an RMA going, I'm mostly curious if anyone else has been having TDR issues with the 700 series, that had a stable system with a previous video card, since I'd rather not wait for RMA if it's a driver issue.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Well, random video driver crashes if they're so far apart aren't really a viable reason for RMA. First you should try to pinpoint the cause as it could be either drivers or any programs that have something to do with your GPU. As I said earlier, I figure it's one or the other. I can't be bothered to look into the issue myself, but if you find out anything, do tell.

Interesting... My crashes are random also, checked event viewer and found 3 in the last 12 days.

Happened once during web browsing, once during Metro 2033, and the other I was likely away from PC as I don't remember it happening.

The GPU seems to play games fine aside from some non driver related HK.ship failures on Sleeping dogs, and random crashes on Metro 2033. Had the Witcher 2 crash on loading a saved game a few times also.
But I played Borderlands 2 for hours no issues, ran heaven for an hour no issue etc.

Do you think I should continue my RMA and be bored for 3 weeks, or wait for new drivers?
