I5 2500k performace question

Hi guys, when i run 3d mark 11 just after i turn on my computer i get a physic score of 7300 (3,9GHz) but when i play for like half an hour and i run the test again the physic score goes to 6600 (it still says 3,9 Ghz). I think that this happens because the cpu overheads (i dont have a external fan), Is this the reason?

Any help will be very useful

You should get a hyper 212 evo cooler and a arctic ceramique 2 thermal paste
And m sure the temps and stats are goin to be fine
U can also o.c. With that cooler to 4+ ghz
