I've had trouble trying to use the XMP settings on my memory. When I set the XMP profiles I end up with BSOD and/or very high temps on the CPU, even when just internet browsing or equally non-intensive work.
I've tried both profiles, and just setting for the 1866 setting from the bios with the same issue.
My system specs are
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core
Motherboard: Asus Z87-PRO ATX LGA1150
Memory: 2 G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 (16gb total)
Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" SSD
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 760 4GB
Case: Cooler Master HAF 922 ATX Mid Tower
Power Supply: Kingwin 650W ATX12V / EPS12V
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)
BIOS: v. 1205
The system works fine under the default settings (1333)
As soon as I'm able I will add the exact settings of default and the XMP profiles
This is a new computer, just built a few weeks ago. I'm not yet overclocking (waiting to get a good cooling system) so that shouldn't be an issue.
Does any of the memory guru's have any advice or solutions I could pursue?
