Hi guys, I'm finalizing my build before I order it. This is my build: http://puu.sh/3Jvc9 + http://www.amazon.com/GMYLE-Floppy-Internal-Ports-Bracket/dp/B008BDBZ4S + a CD-R drive I have at home.f

Will this be a viable build for gaming? I hope to get good frames on a 1080p resolution on any games and I hope to use this build in the future gen without upgrading.

I have been told to get a better MoBo for OCing. If that is the case, I have around $30 left in my budget. Can you recommend a z87 motherboard?

Have fun - that combination is the best for 1080p gaming right now. You shouldn't have to upgrade for a few years. You don't need a more expensive motherboard. Those Haswell CPUs get hot fast, so just turn the multiplier up to x40 (should do it on stock voltage) and be happy. Almost all games show no noticeable boost from overclocking Intel CPUs past 4.0GHz.

Don't bump posts - moderators will close your thread for that.

You don't need a better mobo, no. But if you have some extra cash and want some more features, then I'd say go for the best ASUS mobo you can find for under $200.

Everything is compatible - but you may want to get some RAM with low-profile heat sinks or none at all, because your Hyper212 may bump into the RAM you have picked. BTW Overclocking RAM is overrated - gets you maybe 2% performance.
