Windows Update won't download any updates

For a while now I've noticed my updates aren't actually going anywhere. I have a fair few updates to install now due to this; I can find the updates but Windows Update just won't download them at all. In the picture link I've included I decided to just try and install a few updates rather than the full amount, and it's still insisted on saying 0% downloaded for half an hour.

Thank you. I've just tried the method of disabling everything through entering MSConfig in Run, but on restarting that hasn't worked either. My antivirus has never caused problems before- I only use MS Security Essentials- so I don't think it's that interfering :(

Also try deleteing all the Windows Update downloads in its download folder. This should force WU to download new copies:
\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download
Delete all the files and folders within the \Download folder(don't delete the \Download folder however)
This may help.
