Hi, what are the benefits of the flex atx power supplies compared to the regular ones in addition to being smaller? For a system of about 150w what the pros and cons of having a regular power supply, such as 360w, compared to a FlexPSU 250w 80 plus? Warm and break less? Thanks

Solution
Assuming they are both equally well built, They will function and work the exact same.

If you KNOW your system only uses 150 watt MAX, a 250 watt may be more efficient at those loads(assuming BOTH have the same efficiency rating at 50% load). Most power supplies hit peak efficiency at about 50-60% load.

All in all, new power supply are getting very efficient over a very wide rage of loads making picking a lower one not as advantageous as it once was.

Bottom like now is SIZE assuming they are build of equal quality.
