While there are several great resources out there I was hoping for some more personalized help. I have an i7 2670QM XPS L502x laptop that I do everything on from running OSX in a VM (to program in Objective C) to Visual Studio (C++) and Photoshop to writing my term papers. I am hoping to throw in a shiny new SSD sometime in the near future to speed up general performance and give Photoshop a nice scratch disk but as I only have one caddy and the L502x does not support mSATA I want to go big – like 512GB (I do not want to remove my Blu-ray drive). Therefore I need to find an SSD that is big and fast, but won’t break the bank. Does anyone have some good suggestions? Maybe a couple of links to benchmarks I may not have seen (i.e I have not seen a recent Tom’s article)? Also I was reading that some 2.5” drives are a bit bigger and don’t fit inside some laptops. Anyone know what will fit inside mine? As always, thanks ahead!
