Sounds like your system got slammed with malware/virus. If you boot your computer and keep hitting f8 can you get to Safe Mode to run malwarebytes or your antivirus. Personally to me sounds like you will need to wipe the drive and start clean, but as this is XP might not be able to as support has stopped for XP and companies aren't making drivers / etc. for it. If wiping, reinstalling all software (having the keys, etc. for them) and all that is a big hassle and probably not be back to where you want to be, you might just fork over the $249 at Walmart and just get a new PC, some older low end systems are even being sold for $149 on Walmart.com. Someone linked me here to a i5 nice system on Walmart for lik $450.

Thats what I was afraid of :-( It's not running on XP its running on Windows 7 although now it says that my windows is not a genuine copy and I keep getting pop up's saying windows is corrupt and my update manager is not working? I bought my laptop off e-bay about a year ago with windows 7 installed on it but the product key was not on the bottom as it was a referb and got updated to windows 7 from Vista I think. It is a genuine copy with a genuine product key but I can't find it anywhere now... I was hoping to run Magic JellyBean Key Finder to find my windows 7 product key and office product key before I wiped the drive but It nothing like that will run after I down load them. It's a night mare and unfortunately I cant afford to but another system, Thanks for your help.
