First time Selecting parts for a computer

Hi,

i've built computers before but actually selecting the parts is something i have not done in a long time.

Which is why i need some help over the build i have come up with. I am also capable of overclocking

This is a computer more suited for gaming and if the price can be lowered without sacrificing performance, that is appreciated.

I am also wondering about these changes:

PSU change to - corsair vs550 - $ 61
CPU change to - i5 4570 - $229
MOBO change to -Gigabyte B85M-D3H $95

I would avoid a B85 chipset .

Use the H series if you are not overclocking .
That would give you faster SATA ports for your hard drives , and allow you to set the SSD as a cache drive .

i don't know if you had your heart set on that specific 7870, but there's a non OC version over here

For $170 after rebate that should OC just fine, i've had 4 or 5 Sapphires and never had a problem with them.
1 more week until the rebate expires, so think it over, i have a stock clocked 7870 and it's a great gaming card.

I would be glad to get it but unfortunately i am in Australia and the prices are quite different and the one i have listed is pretty much as cheap as you can get. Thanks anyways

Asrock boards are generally a small step down in quality from Asus and Gigabyte ... but whats the point in having a mb designed to last say ten years over one designed to last 6 years when both will be obsolete in 3 years ?

Well if Asrock boards are a small step down in quality compard to Asus and Gigabyte then i will be getting the GA-Z87-HD3. I think that it makes no difference in getting a mb designed to last 10 or 6 years if i am aiming to swap to a new computer every 5 or so years.
