I built a pc for my grandfather and after several months of running fine it developed a problem and it keeps freezing about after 5 minutes after booting up. I don't know what caused it or if he downloaded something. But no anti-virus software has worked so far even bootable anti-virus software freezes I have windows 8 so I decided to do a refresh but it stoped at 53%. My specs are
ASUS:F2A85-V
AMD A10 5800K 4.2 GHz
G SKILL LGA1155 8GB x1
SSD 120GB
Windows 8 64 bit

Please help its stuck on 53% and I'm running out of ideas.

First, you should check to see if the SSD's corrupted. SSD's sometimes fail catastrophically, but usually the PC becomes unbootable so this is probably not the case. After that, run memtest86 in Windows to find out if the RAM is the problem. If it isn't, another component might be the issue, like a dead GPU (although in this case that'd be a APU-related problem). In that case, I suggest you try and take your CPU's temps. If they're too hot, the CPU (APU in your case) will automatically shut down to prevent damage. You should reapply your thermal paste as a last measure. If that doesn't help, try and figure out whether it's the CPU or motherboard, and replace the faulty part.
