Hi,

I have a chipset of Asus M2n68-AM which supports DDR2 RAM.
what is the maximum Mhz of the RAM it supports ?

I bought a new 2GB DDR2 @ 800Mhz n it seems to work @333 Mhz [ Thats how it shows in CPU-ID] with my old 1GB DDR2. Will it increase the speed/Mhz if i just replaced my old RAM ?

Also i've also bought a 'Gainward NVIDIA 2GB DDR3 GT610 2 GB DDR3 ' GPU for it. Will it work on my current chipset?

And how will it effect my GPU if my CPU Power supply is lesser than 300W ?

MY current config :

Motherboard : Asus M2N68-AM
Processor : AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
RAM : 1GB DDR2 + 2GB DDR2 both showing @ 333MHz

Please ignore if there is anything foolish about this post , am not a Techy hardware person ... :)

Thank you

Solution

As mentioned in one of the above post, your memory (800MHz) is downclocked due to the presence of a lower speed memory in the system. Currently, your system is running @ 677MHz(333MHz). Yes, if you...

Your old RAM is slow. So the new RAM should works as the speed of the old one in order to keep in pace and work together.

Of course GT 610 will fit but this gfx is too weak I think. But what kind of games do u play?
