Do I need to keep my current mobo to OC GPU?

So I was planning on overclocking my AMD FX-6300 and got a decently expensive AsRock Extreme3 R2.0 motherboard to support the overclocking. I had been planning to overclock it up to 4.0/4.1 gHz but I was just told by someone that the turbo speed of the 6300 is 4.1 gHz.

So now I look like a fool and I'm wondering if I still need the AsRock mobo to overclock my GPU and possibly the RAM?

Yes you will be able to over clock your FX-6300 on that motherboard I assure you, you could even go over the desired overclock if you ever wish too and you have a decent enough cooler. When I had a replacement motherboard in my system while I was waiting for my Asus Crosshair V, I could over clock MY FX-6300 from the stock speed of 3.5GHz to 4.1GHz, and the motherboard was only this.

Good motherboard choice by the way. ASRock and Asus are my favourites motherboard manufacturers.
