Good day fellow forumers. I'm a bit puzzled right now and not sure on what to do. I am going to purchase a new GPU and still questioning what to buy. I'm going to purchase an HD 7850 2gb sapphire or HIS since those are the brands that I trust and still thinking if I would get an ordinary one or the OC'd one. The price difference is around $50 in US which is really big in our country. I've read pages before that I should just get the ordinary one and oc it since it is safe to do so as long as I dont get over the OC'd specs.

There's a risk I know, but "overclocking using a prescribed software is untraceable" yes quote me on that I know what I'm saying :) Please don't tell me to buy a different gpu or so cause that's the one that I'm willing to buy wholeheartedly. Thanks in advance :)

Is there a question in there?

Regarding which brand/model to buy? Well just get whichever one is cheapest and has the best bundle. For a 50$ premium, in my mind the SC/OC versions aren't worth the money. Overclocking a GPU is relatively easy with a program like MSI afterburner. HIS and Saphire are good brands. My preference would be Saphire, as I've had them before. Can't get HIS cards where I am.

7850 2gb is a good card.

Thanks for the reply keith :) You did answer my question about the $50 increase from sc/oc versions. About the programs though, since I'm using the catalyst for overclocking my current gpu which itself is a program from amd. Is it possible if I buy the sapphire brand and use the MSI afterburner instead of the catalyst? Haven't tried that one yet.

as far as I know it works with AMD cards, although the website says it only works with MSI cards, my GFX is not MSI, and after burner works flawlessly with it. Ive a GTX560ti.
