Does anyone know why my acer aspire E1-571 is only displaying a black flashing screen when I turn it on?? No keys work at all, tried turning it off and taking battery out but still doing the same?? Please help as I need it for coursework desperately !!

It sounds like it could be hardware failure.
When it flashes does it turn off, or the picture just goes out and comes back?
If that is so, if you can manage to log in and try to navigate to the Device Manager. Then see if you have a video driver that can be updated.
Also, do you have anything plugged into a video output port like an HDMI or a VGA?

Connect trough vga or hdmi and see if it works... to see if its just the lcd and not the video card
I would use the VGA or HDMI output to connect a different monitor or screen to your machine, and try to boot up. If you see anything on this different screen then you know it is actually your laptops LCD screen that is having failure.
