Hello community, my friend just bought a gtx 770. He doesn't have an account here so i thought id ask for him. Everytime he reboots his PC, he gets alot of lag in games and he has to reinstall the drivers. After reinstalling he can play normally. But when he reboots it starts to lag. He erased his old nvidia drivers completely before installing the new ones. I hope you can find a solution! Thank you!

ok time for some Q&A lol :)

is the pc overclocked ? and are you using and moxel to pci-e adapters ?
have you tried going into MSCONFIG and stoping all starts ?
when you installed the nvidia drivers did you try going to Custom Install and ticking the box for a clean install ?
also have you check nothing is overheating too ?

i know it's a pain but have to ask these things :)

also when do you have any overclocking software installed on the computer ?

Thank you, actually i think my friend has it sorted now. He updated windows and after that it started working :) It might have also been overheating cause the turned the fans higher. Sorry to waste your time

Hello, I'm having the same issue, everything is up to date, and in order to play games without lag i have to re-install the drivers, I've been trying to fix this problem for about a month or 2, i have a msi gtx 580 direct cu II, z68a gd65 (G3), i7 2600k, ssd samsung 840 120gb, 12gb of ram vengence. I've even spoke to an nvidia rep and they told me to update my bios, and i did that. read some where that logitech software(Lcore.exe) might be a problem causing this, but I've already disabled it on start up, and did a fresh install of drivers... I'm trying to prevent having to do a clean install for just this problem, but I also don't want to have to re-install my drivers every time i start up my system in order to play games. Nothing is overclocked
