Hi to all,

My mobo ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 has crashed and I wish to replace it for a recent ASUS model but using all the rest, i.e., CPU, Memories, etc., etc.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time and attention,

Breixo

Hi Henydiah,

The crash has evolved as follows:

1. - This morning the PC has been locked
2.- After a reset and a few minutes, the PC has auto reset.
3.- The auto boot after reset is stuck in a screen saying there was no hard drives detected.
4.- A new boot a screen says I must set the BIOS. I enter the BIOS, everything looks fine and I do a "Save and Exit".

After that the mobo no boots. I've tested the 4 RAMs making different combinations of 2 DIMM in the 2 banks and I have played with the RAM switch. Sametimes (1 from 10 attempts) the mobo has booted the first screens but it hangs without any error message, the monitor is black. Now the only activity indicator is the Memory RED LED blinking.

Well, I think that probably the BIOS chip is damaged and I plan to send the modo to the ASUS support but I need to work with my PC inmediatly and I've 2 solutions:

a) To purchase the same mobo
b) To purchase a newer card but I can take advantage, basically, of the AMD Phenom™ II CPU socket AM3 and the four DIMM DDR3 1333MHz (4x2GB).

Can you send me your comments?.

Thank you very much from Madrid,

Hi Henydiah,

Well, I try to POST with 1 RAM in different slots, also 2 RAMs in blue and in black slots. Also, I reset the RTC without battery and changing the CLRRTC jumper and ALMOST ever the results are no POST and MEMOK! LED blinking or fixed.

Two times, the PC boots and after to set the BIOS and recover the good configuration the PC hungs with the screen absolutelly distorsioned as a bad tuned TV. After a lot of hours I've tired and I think the only solution is to remplace the mobo but I wish a modern mobo capable of work with my AM3 socket AMD CPU Phenom II 4 cores, my 4x2GB DDR3 RAMs and my two SATA Hard Disks.

Any suggestion?

Thanks and best regards,
