Just purchased a Evga Geforce 760 graphics card based on some recomendations. The old power supply that i had was only 300 watts so i had to purchase a larger one for it. When i got everything all hooked up and ready to go the computer fired up and i was stuck on the hp loading screen(I have the hp h8-1160t) it will not let me enter boot menu and is completely frozen on that screen. Computer beeps once then there is a long pause and then it beeps again. After about 3 beeps the computer beeps once then 3 times very rapidly. I was thinking i could have possibly messed up my pci-e slot but when i put my old graphics card in(which is a geforce 530 model) the computer booted up just fine. What could be causing this problem? the motherboard i have is running AMI bios and i updated it very recently.

probably conflicting gpu drivers.

connect your old gpu, start ur pc, remove ALL previous gpu drivers, connect ur new gpu, and install the correct drivers for the new one.

Did you plug both power connectors into the GFX card?

Yes. I was even thinking it could possibly be my new psu but when I unplug it from the gfx card I get no display at all.

Had the exact problem, I downloaded Gigabyte's @Bios software, and updated the BIOS from WINDOWS which I was somehow able to load after said three beeps. The card works fine now.
