This may well be a stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway.

I have an Ultrabook as a 2nd PC (in addition to my gaming rig) and I have been looking into downloading a GBA emulator to play some of the old Pokemon games while away on holiday.

The specs are:

1.4Ghz Intel i3-2367m Dual-Core CPU (4 threads)
2GB RAM
64GB SSD

Would this be able to run the emulator or not?

The reason I am asking is I have seen some posts stating that that emulators use a lot of CPU power.

Thanks.

PS: The consensus seems to be that Visual Boy Advance is the best emulator to use. Does anyone support or refute that?

First of all, that should be fine - emulators DO use a lot of CPU power, but the GBA is old, and can be emulated on one of the newer fancy calculators, for goodness' sake.

I personally use VBA and love it; I've used other things, but prefer VBA for it's UI.

Also, this seems like a strange question to be asking - why not just download it and see how well it runs, rather than asking if someone on the internet thinks it'll run well? :p

For what its worth, I got the emulator and the Pokemon Emerald ROM without any trouble, I also scanned both the individual programs and my system with my anti-virus program and Malwarebytes after downloading and nothing untoward was detected.

My computer is on par with yours and I can run VisualBoyAdvance just fine. The worst I've encountered was dropping to 20FPS.
