Upgrading from GTX 275 to GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB or GTX 760

Hey everyone,

So I'm finally thinking of upgrading my GTX 275 which has been slowly dying and I'm wondering what card to get. I don't really have a budget, but I did like the idea of paying no more than $150 for a new card (and from what I've heard, the 650 Ti Boost 2GB is the best pick in that range). Although if the 760 will really be worth it, I would consider increasing my budget for it.

What I will mainly do with the card is game. I will probably be playing a couple of games in my backlog that include Max Payne 3, Crysis 3, Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3 and Arkham City.

Both the cards I'm currently considering are the EVGA versions:

650 Ti Boost 2GB

So I guess my questions are if either of these are substantial enough upgrades to the 275, and if these are the two best options right now in the respective price brackets to chose from?

Which one would you pick if your original budget was $150 but MIGHT consider a budget increase?

The gtx 650ti boost ~ a gtx 295. So it might be 2x as fast as a gtx 275. Whereas the gtx 760 will be almost 3x faster than a gtx 275.
Both the upgrades are pretty substantial in terms of performance increase....But I would say go with the gtx 760 if you have the budget...

By the way what is your current cpu.....Make sure that your old cpu doesn't bottleneck these cards...

Then surely grab the gtx 760 if you have the budget.....it is the sweet spot for gamers in the entire NVidia lineup and provides great bang for the buck!!!!

I do Visual Effects and can generally fill up the RAM if it's there. I don't absolutely need 32GB but just have it anyway lol.

Is the 760 really worth $100 more though for the performance increase from the 650 Ti Boost?

I would say yes......The gtx 760 is almost 50% faster than the gtx 650ti boost and certainly worth the extra 100$.

Also which of the brands of cards have the best cooler etc? Should I stick with the EVGA I linked?

Also so in both these price ranges, are those the best two cards to consider or is there something else I should look at too?

If you go by the toms review of the gtx 760 ( which did not have an EVGA card BTW)....MSI and gigabyte had the best cooling....

But I would say stick with the EVGA card as they have the best in class after sales service (much much better than others).....
