I have a mini atx tower (hp pavillion p6) and my GPU seems to be hitting 90+ degrees.
I am not sure if the GPU is faulty or if its just bad airflow in the system.
So is it worth it to buy a new case, like a Mid Tower?

(Really like my HP case though)

Need some tips please help.

Case:Mini Atx Tower
GPU: XFX DD 7870 2GB
CPU: AMD A10-5800k
PSU: Corsair CX600W

Solution
Your card should not be getting that hot, it is normal for a graphics card to be anywhere from 60-80C, even with good or great airflow. One of my friends who I built a mini atx build for has a 7870 XT which runs hotter than normal 7870 cards and she has no problems. Actually here is the case we used.

everything fits in pretty tight in the end, but it worked out and she games all the time, no complaints of heat, also had an aftermarket cooler on her i5 4430 the coolermaster TX3

I heard that the 7000 series from AMD runs very hot. But according to AMD it's normal that they reach near 80C degrees under load. However, above 90C I don't know if this is normal, maybe someone more familiar with these cards could answer.

But yeah, it's always better to have a case with good airflow if you're going to put a gamer video card in the system. Try to have at least 2 fans in your case (1 for intake + 1 for exhaust) that's the bare minimum for good airflow. For instance, I have the Antec Nine Hundred and it has 2 x 120mm fans for intake + 1 huge 200mm fan for exhaust.

I put a XFX DD HD7870 in a PC-Q08R (mini-ITX) case which has front and top fans, and I believe that [radiant] heat from that card caused the death of the motherboard, despite heatsinks on its VRMs. Nothing was overclocked, and both CPU and GPU temps were well within reason, although I could feel a lot of heat rising from it. A VRM fried shorted though. I would get another case, for more airflow. Your Corsair "CX" PSU was built using some inferior Samxon capacitors that don't like heat, and may fail early.

Jeez.... +90°C.... Just so we can get an idea what is your CPU temperature? If it is completely Case Airflow problem.
You can take a part the video card and change thermalpaste too?
