So, built a new pc. Stuck vista 32 bit on it. Everything working perfectly. Had 8gb of RAM so thought go up to 64 bit. Talked to Microsoft, sent dig river links to 64 bit after having code verified. Created bootable usb using imgburn and wintobootic. Took a few tries to get install going for some reason. NOw computer buggered. Boots to black screen sometimes, sometimes to blue screen sometimes to proper windows. Similarly safe mode is equally hit and miss. Tried reinstalling from USB but sometimes not recognised and strratight to black screen, sometimes black screen after install started. Computer will not restart either. Shits down sort of but light stays on and will shut down instantly if power button pressed. Found my original 32bit DVD so thought install that but exact same issues as with USB install.

Solution
Could be RAM, power supply or motherboard, maybe the hard drive. Test it with different RAM sticks (or just remove some of yours and try a few of them). Outside of that you need to try different hardware.
