DDR2 PC3200 compatible with PC4200?

Solution

It will b mentioned on the memory label, something like PC2-4200E if it is ECC or PC2-4200U for Non-ECC.

I guess you have a defective module...

Hello,:hello:

Sure, I can help you with that.

#1. Try installing a single module (new) and do not install any old memory, see if it boots.
#2. Check if the memory is NON-ECC or ECC memory.
#3. Reset your CMOS and try a BIOS update.
#4. Then install the memory and see if it boots.
#5. If the new memory works individually but not together with the existing memory then try the #3. process.
#6. If the above doesn't help then you may want to RMA the memory, and get a new memory instead of the existing memory.

Also make sure your memory is similar to the one listed in the below link -http://www.memorystock.com/orderitem.asp?it=681ms-681 or lemme know the mfg's partnumber of the memory. GOOD LUCK!!
