Does anyone know if this board supports 8GB sticks? Found a really good deal on an 8GB x 2 set, so was thinking about going that route instead of the more expensive 4GBx4 or any triple channel set (yes, I know, I won't get triple channel performance), but memory capacity is more relevant to my needs than speed at the moment anyway.

Appreciate the input.

Yes, the Rampage III Gene should support 8GB in 1 slot, I have seen 3x8 GB setups on that Motherboard and thus you r 2x8GB should work as well...

Is a BIOS update or any tweaks required? Seems sketchy that the max advertised memory for the board is 24GB with 6 DIMMs... which would be 4GB each.

Don't worry, I have seen 3x8GB setups on that board, the X58 platform is cut out to do such.
