Hey guys. Up until today, I wanted a gtx 760. Today though, I saw that I could get a sapphire 7970 w/ boost for 300 dollars after mir's. Do you guys think I should go with this deal? Is this a solid card? Please help!

The 7970 works fine 99% of the time, it is simply the fact that the 670 does have very frequent driver support and just better drivers + the free game you can sell that lead me to make you buy the ASUS GTX 670.

The 7970 is a good card around GTX 680\770 performance and quite a bit faster than the GTX 760. For that price, I would go for it.

Now I just found a gtx 670 fir 310 dollars, and it comes with a free game. Made by gigabyte. What do you think? Here are the two links: 7970: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202008 670: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125423

Both are solid cards, the 7970 will likely get you a bit more frames, but the 670 will have better support\drivers. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121637 I would go for this instead of the GIGABYTE.

Any particular reason for asus>gigabyte?

It has a more attractive look IMO, Iron Egg guarantee and also a very good cooler. I have had good luck with their recent products, especially their GTX 570s. Also, the GTX 670 from ASUS has quite good reviews overall as well. Considering the free game you can sell, I see it as better value. @Diamond-HP Synthetics are not everything, if that were the case, a 580 would be faster than a 680, which it is not.

The gb card comes with a game as well and has a higher clcok speed. I know it's not that big of a deal, I'm just OCD about that type of thing. Plus the gb card is cheaper before and after the mir. The 7970 is cheaper, but some of the review say it is plagued by artifacts. That's whats making me a bit nervous.

Do you run the card? I'm a bit concerned about artifacts right now, so if you know anything about that, the information would be appreciated.

My 7970 has never had an artifacting problems, the only issue as of right now AMD has drivers wise is when it comes to crossfire. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. The 7970 competes with the 680 so it's a bit of a performance hit to go with the 670. Either way they are both good cards, look at the numbers and decide yourself.
