Hello, I just looked through July's edition of Best Graphics for the Money, and was utterly astonished to see that the 660 beat out the 7870 for the sub 200 price range. Is this true? What am I missing out on? I was considering upgrading from my 7850 1gb to a 7870 Ghz 2gb, but if the 660 is superior, I'd likely go with that.

EDIT: To be specific, the 7870 I was looking at would be the Sapphire HD7870 Ghz Factory OC, vs the most price relevant GTX660 which seems to be the MSI Factory OC.

PS: Whats up with all *most* of Sapphire's cards being factory OC'ed? Oh well

Thanks,

Oh, I see, makes sense now. The reason you don't want to CF AMD cards is their drivers are broken and put out bad frames during CF so you really don't get a better gaming experience with the second board. As...

Hello,

I appreciate your concern, but I will be exchanging my 7850 for a 7870, not doing a complete upgrade. I purchased the 7850 when the 7870 was 210+, and now that its a mere $25 USD more than the 7850, Newegg offered to waive the restocking fee so I can upgrade. It was very nice of them and gets me a fairly substantial upgrade for only $25 USD :)

EDIT: How about CF 7870's? I find it highly unlikely that I personally will CF anything as I am typically under a fairly low budget, but I'm always curious about my options

As of now I have heard they will have new drivers out the end of this month. Don't hold your breath. But yes, getting the 7870 with 2GB ram is a plus for $25.
