I'm looking to upgrade my PSU because my current one doesn't seem to support my new GPU. After a few minutes of running a game my PC shuts off, it will sometimes restart with a power surge warning and other times it just powers off and wont power back on unless I kill the power to the motherboard then power on.
Also my PSU doesn't have a 6 pin PCI-e cable i have to use a 4 pin molex to 6 pin PCI-e connector. Could this be causing the problem?
What would be the cheapest PSU I can get that will support my setup? I have looked at some corsair PSU's but wouldn't really know where to start.
My specs are:
ATX P4 500W PSU (not sure of the make)
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard
AMD FX 6100 6-core black edition CPU
Asus Direct CUII OC Gtx 660
