I have a MSI 870A-G46 motherboard with an Athlon x3 on it currently. I have some questions about CPU upgrading without buying a new motherboard, with the am3 socket can I put this in it AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX ? Or are there even better options for the money?

Phenom ii 965 is the best option u ll have as phenom x6 are not available anymore

Thanks for the reply! I am looking to go no more than $150 if possible. Also another question, how easy is it to upgrade a CPU? What is involved besides taking the old one out and putting in the new?
